The famous Trail Ridge Road also runs through the park, topping out at 12,183 feet and offering incredible views – a guest-favorite experience. Day Trips

Make a day of it – take a packed lunch from the Inn and spend a few hours in the park hiking, driving Trail Ridge Road, and animal watching – then visit Grand Lake for shopping and waterfront views or a lake kayak before returning to the Inn for a soak in the hot tub.

Hiking & Trails

Whether you choose an easy ramble through the aspen groves, or a hike to a towering mountain peak, you’ll see why this is a favorite pastime for Inn guests. Guided snowshoeing is also available during the winter months.

Fishing

Brown, brook, rainbow and cutthroat trout populate lakes, streams and rivers in the park. Stocking is only done to help restore native species, which means some of the best flyfishing in Colorado is just 40 minutes from the Inn!

Wildlife

The park is famous for it’s resident elk herds – some of the largest in North America with over 65,000 head. Moose also roam the park, along with birds, deer, bighorn sheep, black bears – and of course the marmots and pikas we love seeing along the trails!
